(Human immunodeficiency virus )

HIV is an infection transmitted sexualy and  through blood (STI) that is listed on the register of notifiable diseases required by the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Its transmission is made through blood, semen, vaginal secretions, rectal liquid or during pregnancy / childbirth / breastfeeding.

Screening (for blood sampling) of HIV is highly recommended to all people with risk behavior. If the test is positive, fast medical consultation and a decreased risk of indiscriminate transmission is desired.
